Establishment of the Y3-Utsunomiya
Y3-Utsunomiya was established sponsored by the Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club in the 6th Japan-East Convention held on June 2003 in the Utsunomiya Gland Hotel. Y3 means 3 initials of Youth, Y's men and YMCA.

Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club has had a regular meeting with Youth Volunteer Leader of Utsunomiya YMCA every year in February.

In other hand, in the end of 2001, it was decided to host the 6th Japan-East Convention in Utsunomiya City on June 2003. The Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club planed to establish Y3-Utsunomiya as a youth club. Also, the Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club supported Miss. Keiko Ota who participated in the International Youth Convocation 2002 in Australia as the representative of the Youth Volunteer Leaders of the Utsunomiya YMCA.
Under the above 3 major conditions "Regular meeting with youth, Regional Convention host and International Youth Convocation", a plan was started to establish the Y3-Utsunomiya in the Regional Convention 2003 by graduated Youth Volunteer Leaders, present Youth Volunteer Leaders of the Utsunomiya YMCA. Via the preparation period of several months, the club of the Y3-Utsunomiya declared establishment in the 6th Japan-East Convention on 7th of June, 2003.

What is Y3?
Where is difference between Y3 and Youth Volunteer Leaders? This was major discussion about the existence basis of the Y3-Utsunomiya. As for the straight answer, the Y3-Utsunomiya is an independent activity and the Youth Volunteer Leaders is the activity which the staff of YMCA finds out.
