NEWS, First Half, 2018-2019

President's annual commitment has been announced in the last Month. Important discussion was done in the first month meeting of July, 2018 based on the annual theme of "Think! The future of Y's Men's Club". Before the meeting, the members of Utsunomiya club were organized by 4 themes of group which are 1. Child's anti-poverty project, 2. to make a planning of a campsite at Okorogawa , 3. Support to the youth volunteer's meeting in YMCA and 4. planning of the 40th anniversary of the Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club. A result of the discussion was as follows. We make a task team for the above 1 and 2, hold an open lecture and We recruit support member from general people. Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club consists of establishment in 40 in May, 2019. A commemoration business committee is made 40th anniversary for the above 4 and we have to make a planning for 40th anniversary programs including golf and an opening to the public rakugo(a comic story teller) meeting.

Above pictures are the pictures of 4 times of admission ceremony. Ms. Chie Hattory and Ms. Sachiko Watanabe in July, Mr. Kozo Otani in August and Mr. Hayato Takahashi in November. Especially, Mr. Hayato Takahashi was a youth member of the Youth Club. Membership of the Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club was 32 members at the end of December, 2018.

Meeting to discuss about the 4 themes in the task teams

. Child's anti-poverty project, It's necessary to establish the way to gather volunteers. There are two kind of volunteers, one type is every day for driving of a car and learning support who works in regular way, another type of volunteer has the specialized knowledge of the guidance which are the music, a painting and a sport, etc. The volunteer as the mentor. An educational guidance person has to raise the going will of the child. A volunteer of the psychological specialist to make it a sound child of a mind and body needs. We'd like to respond to each request by the support to which it's extended that I'd like to send children. Fund raising : Fund raising will be done by the Y's men's abilities. A pickup car charge, the meal expenses, the learning support cost and the personnel expenses of the staff are made of the subsidy of the city. There will need the funds to program one besides that. For example a device to the continual fund raising also to participate for a camp of YMCA is needed. Target of Y's men: We'd like to make children do an ordinary living experience. Children need upbringing of judgement by learning with a confidence. Isn't that the mission of Y's men? To be able to think individual's child might live through a target now. Staff's training and will improvement are needed. A sense of the season is tasted and listening to music, the appreciation of art, care of a pet and a sports experience are needed together. Group for youth volunteer Proj. The way to support the grouping college student's volunteer leader's group was discussed. the As the current state, student leader of Hakuoh University accounts for 90 percent, we have to expand to each universities and colleges in Utsunomiya. There need a pipe to a university and a college and have this pipe in a business worker of a club for this. .Group to make a plan of the commemorative ceremony 40th anniversary. It's expected to do an establishment 40th anniversary commemorative ceremony of the Utsunomiya Y's Men's Club on May 17 and 18, 2019. A golf tournament by a KJM golf club will plan on the 17th with 50 peoples participation. The plan is made to hold an eve at night on the 17th. An establishment 40th anniversary ceremony will be held in Try East from 10:00am Saturdayto 2:00pm on May 18 with participation of about 80 people. The contents of a commemorative ceremony project the pace of the club for 40 years by PowerPoint, explain and plan a rakugo as an attraction after lunch. Lunch schedules catering. The entrance fee to this meeting is made the reach of 7000 yen from 5000 yen and the whole price range for 40th anniversary will be planned by 7-80,000 yen.

Xmas message, 2018-2019

Dear Members of IBCs Merry Christmas to you and your Yfs Men members from Japan. We, YMI Utsunomiya, had a Christmas Party with membersf families and friends and special guests from Taiwan YMCA at a restaurant in Nikko, Tochigi prefecture. This was the time for us to feel the real value of Yfs Menfs Club, its openness and warmth and close network with many Yfs Men in the other countries. Our club, decided to make a project with and for the local Tochigi YMCA. The YMCA started a new community project for the children with various family issues. Many of them are from single parent households and therefore they often do not submit school homework in time, nor take baths or change clothes. They are not so interested in school work. This kind of children has been increasing due to a big economic distribution gap, increase in divorce or separations, and financial difficulties due to various family issues. The YMCA started a special home project for those children identified by the Welfare and Educational Departments of our city. Therefore, Yfs Men in our area decided to support such project by raising funds and helping organizing some special events. During the above Christmas party we asked the members to bring whatever they have at home for a fund raising Auction Sale. It was fun and we were able to raise some amount of money for helping the project. There are many volunteer leaders who help YMCA camps for children. We invite those volunteers for our regular Yfs Menfs Club meetings. We get to know them gradually. More we get together they seem to enjoy the fellowship with us, who are their grandparent ages!
