JR East Start (1987.4.1)
New concept of JR
It was a very interesting question for me, at the time, to understand the two concepts, JNR and private railway, as contrasting concepts.
However, the name "JR" permeates the world more smoothly than expected. You will soon realize that a new concept of "JR" was born instead of a new private railway.
The Tokaido Shinkansen, which had been a symbol of the Japanese National Railways, was managed by JR Tokai, followed by the Sanyo Shinkansen, which was operated by JR West Japan. I will take a bath.

Station Building Fehzan

On the morning of April 1, I returned to Morioka Station where the impressive eve dawned.
The station building "Fezin" has the word "JR East" celebrating its departure alongside the 6th anniversary Thanksgiving banner.
(The picture was taken the day before)
Celebration train

Like the previous day, the Yamabiko-go has a large painting on the front. Today, the letters "Hello JR East" and the new JR logo are drawn.
Departure ceremony

The departure ceremony was held to celebrate the launch of the new JR East.
In the center is singer Yoshi Ikuzo. I will try to be the station manager of the day.
Commemoration orange card

An orange card issued by JR East to commemorate the start of a new company.
We were attracted by refreshing design which designed Mount Fuji and cherry tree and bought. I remember that this was issued by the head office, not the Morioka branch.
Trains with headmarks in the metropolitan area
At the start of JR, JR East was driving a train with a commemorative headmark.
On the first day of JR East in Iwate Prefecture, I immediately went to the Tokyo metropolitan area and watched these JR trains immediately after privatization.

Sobu Main Line

Sobu Main Line 113 series The head mark attached to is the one where the character of the station staff is drawn. I direct a little cuteness.
Joetsu Line

From Niigata 115 series The head mark attached to is round. It says, "This is the new railway in your city."
Until now, three-letter abbreviations for Roman alphabets, such as NTT and KDD, have been used, so the two-letter abbreviation JR has been novel.
Hachiko Line

Hachiko Line stainless steel Kiha 35 The head mark attached to is also round. The contents are the same as those in Niigata, but the design is unique to the image of Honshu in the JR East area.
Is it the head mark of the Takasaki branch office, the Takasaki line seen in the back 211 series The same is attached to the train.
