カナダのロックバンド、サム・ロバーツ1st。当時は賞総なめだったらしい。いかにもカナダのバンドらしい懐の深いロック＃1でスタート。#2はギアを上げてノリの良いギターロック。リズムカルながら哀愁のある#3,⑩は豪バンドにも通じる。特に#10は佳曲だ。#4,⑧のメジャー寄りなテンポ良い音楽性やポールマッカトニーを思わせる#⑤,⑪が万人へのアピールになったのでしょう。US西海岸を思わせる#13など彼等はちょっと若年寄な曲が多めですが、それだけでなく歳相応ｗな爽やかなギタポ＃⑥、ポップロック＃7。タテノリのポップ＃⑫,⑮や#⑨のムーニースズキにも通じる荒々しいロックチューンも混在。「Pretty Woman」を下敷きにしたような#⑭もイイです。 |  |
