Why　did the Lieutenant Colonel tell us to come all the way out here?
A:中佐はどうしてぼくたちをここまでわざわざ来させたんだろうね？

Probably just to see if I'd bark on command, like a good dog the military.That would be just like him.
E：命令どおりに吠えるかどうか見たいだけだろ。軍の狗らしく。あいつがそうであるようにさ。

We must all play our parts,Fullmetal, following orders.
R:われわれは自分の役を演じるしかない、鋼の。命令に従ってね。
That's what being a State Alchemist means.
国家錬金術師であるということはそういうことだ。

Lieutenant Colonel Mustung!
A:マスタング中佐！

I didn't bring here to complain, Edward.I have a job for you.
R:不平を聞くために連れて来たんじゃない、エドワード。仕事をしてもらおう。

Does it have anything to do with the Philosopher's Stone?
E:賢者の石に関係のある仕事なのか？

Sometimes you have to take the dirty jobs no one else wants to do.
R:誰もやりたがらない汚い仕事をやらなければならないこともある。
It's your responsibility as a State Alchemist to carry out missions for the military.
それが軍のために任務を実行する国家錬金術師の責任だ。
You can go looking for the Stone after we're done here.
それが終わったら、石を探しに行けばいい。

I should have expected as much.　What do we have to do?
E:そんなことだろうと思ったぜ。なにをすればいいんだ。

We've discovered remnants of Shou Tucker's research roaming the countryside.
R:ショウ･タッカーの遺物が郊外をうろついているのが発見された。
Wild Chimeras, The military has no more use for such abominations.
野生のキメラだ。こんな忌まわしいものには、軍は何も役に立たない。
Clean up Tucker's mess and report back to East City Headquarters when you're done.
タッカーの残したゴミを掃除して、終わったらイーストシティ司令部に報告したまえ。

Tucker's chimeras?　That's one job I'd be happy to do.
E:タッカーのキメラ？そりゃあ願ってもない仕事だ。

Don't underestimate this task.　It might prove more difficult than you think.
R:甘く見るなよ。君が思うほど安くないかもしれんぞ。

・なぜ中佐なんだ。
・軍部に出来ない仕事をエドに持ってくる大佐（中佐）いいなあ。

◆シーン２…３面冒頭

Ed, Should we be doing this? We're supporsed to be hunting down chimeras.
A:エド、こんなことしていていいの？僕たちはキメラをやっつけるよういわれているんだよ。

I don't care about that.
E：そんなこと構いやしない。
I heard from Major Hughes that a strange glowing stone was spotted in this area.
ヒューズ少佐から、このあたりに奇妙な輝く石が発見されたと聞いたんだ。
The only reason I became a state Alchemist was to find a way to return to your normal body.
俺が国家錬金術師になった理由は、ただお前のまともな体を取り戻す方法を見つけたいからだ。
If there's a chance we could find the Philosopher's Stone by delaying our mission, then that what will do!
賢者の石を見つけるチャンスを手に入れるために任務が遅れたって、それがなんだっていうんだ。
We'll go back to headquarters when we're done.
俺たちは任務が終わったら司令部に帰ればいいだけさ。

Do you really think I'll get my body back one day?
A:僕はいつか体を取り戻せると、ほんとに思う？

Al, if I can accomplish that I don't care if people call me a dog of the military.
E:アル、もしそれができるなら、俺は軍の狗と呼ばれたって構わない。

・エドはアル本位、は英語圏も共通。
・ヒューズ！来た！ｖ　しかも少佐時代。
・自分の目的を追うために動くのなら、大佐（中佐）はとがめだてしないだろうというエドの甘えが見てとれる… というのは考えすぎかな？

◆シーン３…最終面冒頭

East city Headquarters. We're finally here.
A:東方司令部だ。やっと着いたね。

Yeah, but it took us longer than I expected.
E:ああ、でも思ったより長くかかったな。

We did get a little sidetracked.
A:ちょっと寄り道をしたからね。

I'm going to have to listen to one of Mustang's long, sarcastic tirades about how I'm wasting the military's time looking for the Stone when I shoud be finishing my mission.
E:これからマスタングのあの長いいやみったらしい口上を聞かなきゃならないんだな、石探しに任務のための時間をどれだけ浪費したのかって。

Did you at least find any clues about the Stone while you were off ignoring your assigned duties?
R:それで石についての手がかりくらいはつかんだのかね？割り当てられた任務を無視している間に。

Don't sneak up on me like that!
E：音もさせずに近寄るんじゃねえよ！
To answer your question, no, we didn't. It was dead end.
質問に答えるんなら、いいえ、だ。手詰まりだよ。

Well, I suppose it should be expected.
R：ふむ、そうなるだろうと思っていた。
It's unreasonable for us to expect someone so short to be able to keep their eye on the goal.
われわれが、こんな小さい子どもが目的を目に留めておけると思えるわけがない。

I'm not short! You scheming bast...
E:俺は小さくねえ！　このクソ中佐…

Ed, please!
A:エドったら！

Well, now that you're here we'll have to continue the test.
R:さて、ではテストの続きをせねばならんな。

What test?
E:テストだって？

In spite of your famous performance during your State Alchemist Exam, there are certain... parties in the military that are still skeptical about your abilities.
R:国家錬金術師資格試験の中できみが派手にパフォーマンスしたにもかかわらず、軍部にはいまだに君の能力に懐 疑的な、ある…派閥がある。
So I proposed this test to prove your skills.
だから君の力量を証明するために私がこのテストを提案したんだ。

What? All this was your ideas?
E:なんだって？全部アンタの考えだっていうのか？

No need to thank me. After all, I'm your sponsor. So get ready.
R:礼には及ばないよ。なんといっても、私は君の後見人だからね。では早く支度をしたまえ。

Get ready for what?
E:支度ってなんの？

Apparently the chimeras were weaker than they thought. They want to see how you'd do against a real foe...ME!
R：どうやら、キメラは彼らが思っていたほど強くなかったらしい。彼らは君が本物の敵を相手にしてどうするか見たい のだよ。本物の相手――つまり、私をね！

・You scheming bast...は、bastard（いやなやつ）といいかけたのではないか、とナヲちゃんの推理。
・やっぱり「兄さん」でなく「エド」と呼ぶアルは違和感（笑）
・なぜこのゲームの中で階位が中佐設定なのかやっとわかった。12歳エドの国家錬金術師試験直後の話なんだ。

◆シーン４…最終面　VSマスタング戦後

Obviously the Flame Alchemist went easy on you. I'm not surprised.
Gran:焔の錬金術師は君にはたやすい相手だったようだな。私は驚かないぞ。
He'd do anything to make his protege look good.
彼は自分の被保護者の見栄えがするようにふるまっただけだ。

Brigadier General Basque Gran!
A:バスク･グラン准将！

You were behind this the whole time... weren't you?
E:アンタがずっとこの件の背後にいたんだな。

This was a waste of our nation's resources and represents the foolish destruction of valuable military experiments.
Gran:これはわが国の資源の浪費であり、価値ある我が軍の実績を愚かにも破壊することだ。
I wanted nothing to do with it. This charade was all Mustang's idea.
関わるまいと思ったのだがな。この茶番はすべてマスタングの考えなのだから。
But now that it's done I won't let you leave thinking you've won!
しかし茶番は終わりだ、このまま勝ち逃げはさせるまいぞ！

・終わった！エンディング！と思ったらとつぜんグランが出てきて驚いた。
・ヒューズですら名前しか出てこねえのにグランめ…

◆シーン５…エンディング　VSグラン戦後

After that, no one ever questioned Brother's status as a State Alchemist again.
Ａ：そのあと、国家錬金術師としての兄弟の地位を誰も疑うものはいなかった。

Lieutenant Colonel Mustang sent us off immediately afterwards to a desert city called Lior, where he said rumors of the Philosopher's Stone.
マスタング中佐はすぐに僕たちをリオールと呼ばれる砂漠の街に派遣した。彼によるとそこに賢者の石の噂があるという。

I think it was just to make sure we didn't run into Brigadier General Basque Gran for a while,but Ed seemed to think there was a chance that it might be more than just a rumor...
ぼくは、それはただ、ぼくたちがしばらくのあいだバスク･グラン准将と出くわすことがないようにしてくれたのだと思う。
しかしエドは、ただの噂以上のチャンスがあるかもしれないと考えているようだった…

・というわけで、アニメ版準拠の9話（12歳エド終わり）と1話（リオール）の間の話でした。
・会話パートが1面、3面とあるので、2面ごとに会話パートが入るかなあと楽しみにしていましたが、最終面までありませんでした。
