A fireball with -8 luminous magnitude flighted from southern Nagano prefecture
to Yamanashi prefecture at 1 Mar. 2008, 19h05m UT (02d04h05m LT).
Four sites of SonotaCo Network TV observation stations(Mr.SonotaCo, Mr.N.Saito, Mr.Masuzawa, Mr.ts007)
took this fireball images automatically.
The trajectory and orbit were calculated by M.Ueda.
As result, the fireball orbit belongs to ordinary near-Earth asteroids.
The fireball luminous characteristic suggests fragmentation in Earth's atmosphere.
Though, the fireball's end height was 25.8km that can be expected small meteorite to fall on the Earth's surface.
The meteorite impact position was calculated by Y.Shiba and Mr.SonotaCo which resulted in 10g+-1 digit meteorite falling in Makioka town.
Predicted so small meteorite mass as resulting fragmentation effect will make difficulty for the meteorite recover.
Now, the impact area town name changed from "Makioka town" to "Koshu city".
Predicted impact area
The red ellipse is the predicted impact area.
